Policies & User Agreements

Participation in Remote Online Learning Services

By accessing and allowing your child to participate in Online Learning Services through the North Andover Public Schools, you are acknowledging that you have reviewed and agree to the following terms and conditions:
 
  • You understand and agree that your child’s image and voice will be transmitted over the internet and into other students’ and staff member’s computers and homes, which may include the provision of special education and related services, and that the North Andover Public Schools cannot guarantee or warrant complete confidentiality of your child’s voice or image while participating in Online Learning Services.
  • You understand and agree that you, your child, and any individual present within your household are prohibited from disseminating, recording, capturing and/or disclosing materials, information, and/or images made available to you or your child through Online Learning Services without the prior written authorization of the North Andover Public Schools.
  • You agree that you shall not disrupt or interfere with any Online Learning Service session in which your child is participating.
  • You understand that you may  be observed by the educator and by other students in what is normally a private/home setting. That setting should be free of any behavior, activities, items, or arrangements that implicate your student(s) or family’s privacy and that the student and his/her parents/guardians do not want others to observe.
  • Neither you nor your child will grant or facilitate any third party’s access to the Online Learning Services provided by or through the North Andover Public Schools
  • You also understand and agree that the North Andover Public Schools may audio and video record the Online Learning Services it provides to your child or in which your child is participating and this document constitutes both notice of such audio and video recording and your agreement to it.
  • You understand and acknowledge that the rules and expectations set forth in North Andover Public and the Student Handbook for your child’s assigned school apply to, and are in effect during, all online learning services provided by or through the North Andover Public Schools.
  • You understand and acknowledge that North Andover Public Schools and its staff, including but not limited to, the student’s educators, have no liability or responsibility if such behavior, activities, items, or arrangements are observed by others. Parents are responsible for monitoring their child’s use of  technology when accessing video conferencing programs from home. 
  • You understand that and acknowledge that the North Andover Public Schools’ Acceptable Use Policy and social networking rules apply to any individual accessing or participating in Online Learning Services provided by or through the North Andover Public Schools.
 
By allowing your child to access and/or participate in Remote Online Learning Services, you acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions set forth above.

About Chromebooks & How to Access Support

Chromebooks run the Chrome Operating System. Students log in with the NAPS Google Account and have access to all of their needed educational Apps including Google Classroom, Meet, Docs, Sheets, and Slides. Additionally, they run any content specific apps such as ST Math, Lexia, Zearn, iXL and Edpuzzle. As an Enterprise level Google Apps for Education (GAFE) district we have unlimited cloud storage on Google Drive and Chromebooks allow for easy management of student files directly to this cloud storage. We will also have access to all of the additional features Google will be adding to Google Meet over the coming weeks including, viewing up to 49 participants at one time, attendance tracking, hand raising, breakout rooms, blurred backgrounds and more teacher controls.

Technology Support

Students having trouble should access support based on their particular situation:

  • If they can log into their NAPS Google Account they should contact their teacher for support first. If they are still having trouble, they can submit a help ticket directly from their google account.
  • Parents unable to submit a ticket with the student account can send an email to support@naps.freshdesk.com and please include the students name, school and asset tag number on the back of the Chromebook.
