Dear Future Bulldog Families,
We’re looking forward to having in-person kindergarten screenings starting on July 27th and running through August 6th. If you haven’t yet signed up for a screening slot, we encourage you to do so here. Although our screenings will look slightly different this year, we are very excited that we will be offering them in-person. Please note the purpose of the screening is to identify any significant learning differences. This is not an entrance exam; all children who are 5 years old by August 31st are welcome to kindergarten.
Your child will be screened by one of North Andover’s kindergarten teachers in a one to one setting. Weather permitting, we will be administering the screening outside the Anne Bradstreet Early Childhood Center school building under tents. In the event of inclement weather, we will move each individual screening into separate classrooms. One adult will accompany your student to the front of the ABECC to check in. We ask that you then wait in your vehicle for the screening and we will call you when the screening is completed.
Screening Expectations Please complete this parent checklist prior to the screening. You can either bring a hard copy with you to the screening or email a copy to Tiffany Goddard: goddardt@northandoverpublicschools.com Nurses will be available during the screenings to answer any health related questions. Please see a letter from the nurses here. The screening should take no more than 30 minutes. To minimize contact, teachers will not be available to check-in following the screening. Should you have any questions, you may reach out to Tiffany Goddard using the email above.
Important Safety Notices/Procedures: Before and after each day of screenings, all spaces utilized will be thoroughly cleaned as recommended by the local Department of Public Health. We’re working to minimize contact. We ask that one adult attend the screening with the student being screened. Please do not bring other family members. We ask that you wait in your vehicle and we will call you when your child’s screening is complete. When attending the screening, we ask that you and your child wear a mask. We understand that some students will have difficulty wearing a mask for the duration of the screening, but we need to try. Parents will be required to answer a series of health questions daily before students leave the home from a google form provided. All materials will be sanitized between screenings.
Please do not hesitate to be in contact with any questions or concerns. Tiffany Goddard, Principal |
