Message from NAMS - March 24, 2020

posted Mar 24, 2020, 1:02 PM by Jorge Goncalves

Good afternoon NAMS families,

First and foremost, I hope that this message finds you and your family healthy and well. I miss coming to work every day and interacting with so many amazing students and staff members. I hope that you have been able to spend more time together as a family over the last week. I have a new respect for parents who work from home while still keeping their children engaged, learning, and active - not an easy job at all.

As we continue to adjust to our current reality, I would like to commend our NAMS teachers for all of the time, energy, and effort that they have spent collaborating to identify, create sometimes, and share learning activities with our students via google classroom and email. Students and families may find additional learning activities on the Learning Activities for School Closure website.

Reminders:

  • Students are only required to complete 2 Beyond the Classroom assignments while school is closed. When school reopens, students will still have an opportunity to complete these assignments if they need additional assistance. Please do not worry about these assignments, our staff are here to help.

  • Our teachers have and will continue to post learning activities for students to work on if they choose. Student learning activities are not assignments. This is a great way for students to keep learning alive and to provide structure to their day.

  • NAMS staff are available via email, so please do not hesitate to contact them with any questions you might have related to the 2 Beyond the Classroom Assignments or the learning activities that they have shared.

Hoping to see you all again soon,

Jorge Goncalves

Principal
