Dear NAMS families,

It was wonderful to see all of our students today eager and ready for the new school year. After more than 2 months of summer vacation, I’m sure you were more than ready to send your child(ren) back to school and resume those school routines again.

As the father of 3 girls (9th grade, 7th grade, & 5th grade) I tried to enjoy every minute of the summer break with them and my wife, family, and friends before the routine of school began.

Walking around the school today it looked like all of our staff and students had a great first day! I would like to thank all of our staff for all of their time, energy, and effort in preparation for the first day of school because you never get a second chance to make a first impression.

Below you will find some important reminders as we begin the 2019-2020 school year.

Are you interested in being on the NAMS School Council this year?

We are looking for 3 parents/guardians to be members of this year’s NAMS School Council.

Each public school has a school council consisting of the school principal, teachers, and parents of students currently attending the school.  The council will work together to help shape the school culture, assist to identify educational needs of the students, develop a school improvement plan and ensure the district plan is implemented.  The NAMS school council will be comprised of 3 teachers, 3 parents/guardians, 2 students, and a community representative. A parent/guardian position may be shared by more than one parent/guardian.

The NAMS School Council partners with staff, parents/guardians, and students to monitor and update our school goals.

NAMS PTAC is soliciting three parent volunteers (one 2-year term and two 1-year terms) to participate in the NAMS School Council for the school year.

If you are interested in being a member of this year’s NAMS School Council, please take a moment to provide PTAC with your contact information and reasons why you are interested by completing a quick form here or at the following address: https://forms.gle/1RzsgrMvpGyvYadBA

Please complete the survey by Monday, September 16, 2019.

A ballot will be created and a vote will be necessary if more than 2 parents/guardians are interested in the same position. You can learn more about the responsibilities of school councils here.
