  • Please be sure that your child gets sufficient sleep the night before the exam, see dates above.

  • Please be sure that your child eats a healthy breakfast the day of the exam, see dates above.

  • Please be sure that your child have a book to read in case he/she/they finish the MCAS exam early.

  • Please let your child know that this is just one assessment and they are just asked to do their best.

There are also strict rules regarding what is allowed in the testing environment so we would appreciate your support in making sure that your child complies with the following:

  • No cell phones or other electronic devices (e.g., music players, game consoles, smart watches, any device capable of taking photographs) are allowed.

  • Communicating with other students (e.g., talking, whispering, writing notes) during the testing session is not allowed.

  • Looking at any other student’s computer during the testing session is not allowed.

  • Consulting notes, books, or extra reference sheets or materials during testing

Students are encouraged to have the following:

  • Bottle of water (water only please).  The bottle of water can be on the floor available to students during MCAS.

  • Book to read if they finish before the end of the testing session.  Books will need to be placed in an identified area of the room. Students will have access to their books once they have completed the MCAS exam.
