Please be sure to also check us out on Twitter @NAMiddle Students Not Attending North Andover in the Fall 2019 If a student will not be attending North Andover Public Schools in September of 2019, parents/guardians will need to notify Mrs. Barron as soon as possible by either email or coming into the main office of NAMS. At the end of the school year your student’s records will be forwarded to their new school. Please contact Mrs. Barron with any questions at barronm@northandoverpublicschools.com Your Help Requested for NAMS Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week It is that time of year when we recognize the hardworking staff at NAMS for all that they do! As a big thank you, we will be providing breakfast each morning, and a light lunch on Friday for the teachers and staff at NAMS the week of May 6th. We are soliciting donations of items needed for the week and are also looking for volunteers to help with set-up and clean-up. Please deliver all items to NAMS by 6:30 a.m. for breakfast items, and 10:00 a.m. for the Friday lunch items. Please do not send in breakfast donations with your child, as they will arrive too late. If morning delivery is a problem, we are happy to arrange an evening drop off or pick-up; just email Maria Philbin nj1822@comcast.net or Catherine Schmitt at Cathschmitt@yahoo.com to coordinate. PTAC Board Attention Grade 8 Families - We need your help with Grade 8 End-of-Year Activities If you have already completed and returned the permission forms for the Grade 8 End-of-Year activities, thank you! We still have a few missing permission forms from students that we are hoping to collect before the end of the week. Attached you will find a copy of the Grade 8 End-of-Year Events packet should you need another copy. To make these end-of-year events possible for our students, we need your help. Field Day - Wednesday, June 12th (rain date Thurs 6/13) is a day full of fun and organized activities and will be held at the Youth Center this year. Even though the teachers organize the activities, this day would not be possible without lots of parent volunteers! Class Night - Tuesday, June 18th is an evening of fun, food, and music for the students to enjoy with their 8th grade teachers. This event includes parent volunteers (set up and clean up) and food donations. NAMS staff have formed a committee to research and make recommendations regarding homework practices. In addition to researching best practice, we also wish to gather feedback from teachers, parents/guardians, and students (Grades 6-8) via surveys. These surveys were emailed to staff, students, and parents/guardians at the beginning of the week. Several articles may be found below to inform stakeholders about this topic.
