Our Peer Leaders completed the Anti-Defamation League’s peer training program entitled “A World of Difference” and have been meeting weekly to prepare to teach these lessons in addition to leading school initiatives and service projects. The lessons taught today provided students with 1) the opportunity for inter-group dialogue 2) an increased understanding of the causes of prejudice; 3) a fuller appreciation of racial, ethnic, cultural, and other individual differences; and 4) conflict management skills to respond positively when confronted with bias-related behaviors such as bullying and harassment. Our Peer Leaders are scheduled to facilitate lessons again in May and June. Please be sure to check out some of the pictures from this week's lessons on Twitter @NAMiddle.
