NAMS Book Fair is Back!

The book fair is back!  Please join us February 10-14, 2020 in the Library for our week-long Book Fair before we kick off February vacation.  The fair will be open every day before, during, and after school as well as during Family Night on Wednesday, February 12, 2020.  If you would like to volunteer to help the children find and purchase books, please follow the sign up link 2020-Feb_Scholastic Book Fair and fill in as many times that you can work.  If you have any questions, please contact Timra Carlson at timra_carlson@yahoo.com

NAMS Principal Coffee Chat (2/11 Morning or 2/25 Evening)

Recognizing that some parents/guardians won't be able to attend a morning Coffee Chat, we have scheduled an evening Coffee Chat as well. Thank you to those parents/guardians who contacted me to request an evening chat.

Please join us for one of 2 Principal Coffee Chats on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. (NAMS Cafeteria) or Tuesday, February 25th @ 7:00 p.m. (NAMS Library).

We will be reviewing the entry plan data collected last year and sharing updates regarding what has been accomplished and what work is in progress.

Coffee and refreshments will be provided by NAMS PTAC.

All Tuesdays from 9:00-10:00 a.m. in the Grade 8 Cafeteria

  • February 11, 2020 - This meeting will be a Principal's Coffee instead of a formal PTAC meeting. Mr. Goncalves will review entry plan data from last year and provide NAMS Families with updates on what has been accomplished and what is in progress.

History Camp During February Vacation
NAMS Community Programs is proud to present a History Camp trip over February vacation on Wednesday, February 19th from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. to Harvard University. We will be leaving NAMS and heading over to Harvard Square for a 90 minute guided walking tour of Harvard University, shopping, and lunch in the Square. The day will end with a tour of Harvard Law School from current law students. All information can be found here or at the following address:

You are invited to participated in Power of Self-Education's 4th Annual Black History Month Celebration on February 29th

Power of Self-Education (POSE) Inc. is excited to announce its 4th Annual Black History Month Celebration, to be held in partnership with the Haverhill Public Library located at 99 Main St. Haverhill, MA 01830 from 1-4 p.m. This celebration looks to the past and present accomplishments of Blacks in American history, as POSE aims to bring all people together to rejoice in celebration. On February 29th you are invited to come witness and enjoy an afternoon of food, music and culture, featuring spoken word, poetry, dance, literature and narratives that showcase the black experience. This interracial/multiracial event denotes resilience, love, sacrifice, commitment, and the spirit of the human heart. At this time POSE is seeking folks of ALL ages, races and gender identities who might want to participate in our open program. Yellowstone Summer Trip Open to 7th & 8th Grade Students:

FIELD ECOLOGY AND GEOLOGY COURSE

TETON MOUNTAIN SCHOOL

JACKSON, WYOMING

June 20, 2020 through July 1, 2020

This summer field course will take place on the campus of the Teton Mountain School in Jackson, Wyoming.   Jackson is just outside Teton National Park and an hour south of Yellowstone National Park, both of which are areas renowned for their biological and geological wonders.  Teton Mountain School is a field school that specializes in teaching science programs about the Teton/Yellowstone ecosystems to k-12 students.
