NAMS Geography Bee Results

This past Tuesday, January 7th NAMS hosted a Geography Bee open to all students. Mr. Poirier, along with other teachers, facilitated what we hope to be an annual event. After several rounds of questions, we were able to determine a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winner.

Congratulations NAMS Geography Bee winners:

1st place - Mason E.

2nd place - Logan B.

3rd place - Reagan V.

Mason will have an opportunity to advance to the State Finals in April, with a possible shot at the National Geographic Society’s National Championship round in May.

Grade 7 AMS Carnival

Grade 7 students in our Applied Math & Science classes created probability games that were showcased during a student exposition this past week. For more pictures, please be sure to scroll to the end of the blog. We were all very impressed with the effort and creativity that students displayed.

NAMS RAISE theme for January is Empathy!

This month’s RAISE theme is Empathy. Empathy is being aware of and considering another person’s situation, feelings or motives before speaking or taking action. It is a very important life skill to be able to recognize how someone else is feeling. Students are invited to recognize classmates for their empathy by completing a brief recognition form outside of the guidance counselor's office. Think of someone who is able to support others because they recognize how the person is feeling and always find a way to help. We are hoping to recognize a NAMS student each Friday.
