Dear NAMS families,

I hope that this message finds you and your family well.  This is the time of year in which we look back on all that we were able to accomplish together and feel a sense of pride in the successes of our children and students.  Our students and staff provide us with so many opportunities to be proud of their many achievements and accomplishments.

You may find the latest Principal’s Post here and on our website.  Some of the topics from this upcoming week’s Principal’s Post may be found below. Please be sure to also check us out on Twitter @NAMiddle

Happy Father’s Day Weekend to all of our NAMS Dads!

Final Early Release Day is our Last Day of School on Wednesday, June 19th with students being dismissed at 11:05 a.m.

Thank you NAMS Parent Teacher Advisory Council

I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to the NAMS PTAC for all of their support and effort this entire year.  I want to especially thank Paula Mistry & Chris Farr, co-presidents; Sheryl Sciaudone, Treasurer; and Liz McDevitt, Secretary/Webmaster. Thank you to all of the parents/guardians who spent countless hours in their leadership roles on the PTAC this year.  I have been so very impressed throughout the entire year with the organization, leadership, and communication that the PTAC has demonstrated and feel extremely fortunate to be part of this community.

Attention Grade 6 Families

In accordance with Massachusetts State Law 105 CMR 220.000: IMMUNIZATION OF STUDENTS BEFORE ADMISSION TO SCHOOL, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health requires that all children have a tetanus booster (Td or Tdap) vaccine and 2 Varicella (chickenpox) vaccines as well as a physical exam prior to entering 7th grade.

These vaccinations as they are typically given during the 11 year or 12 year annual physical.  Please submit this documentation to us via email, mail, fax, or in person to our nurses if you have not already done so.

This documentation must be received prior to the start of the 2019-2020 school year. We realize that some students may be scheduled for their 12 year physical in the fall. Please email and let us know if this is the case. Thank you for your cooperation with this important matter.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Hassanein, MS, RN

Summer Reading

Please be sure to review the summer reading requirement here to get a jump on the summer reading.

Donate Leftover School Supplies to Students In Need

Every year at NAMS, students purchase the list of supplies outlined in their classroom checklists.  All year long, the supplies get put to use on class assignments and projects. At the end of the year, many of the supplies are only slightly used.  Lots of these items get tossed into the garbage as students clean out their lockers in June.

WHY NOT COLLECT THE SUPPLIES AND DONATE THEM TO STUDENTS THAT COULD REALLY USE THEM?

Please donate gently or slightly used school supplies.  We plan to donate to teachers in the Lawrence Public School System.

Bins will be located in the main office and the Symmes Lobby to collect donations.

Students Not Attending North Andover in the Fall 2019

If a student will not be attending North Andover Public Schools in September of 2019, parents/guardians will need to notify Mrs. Barron as soon as possible by either email or coming into the main office of NAMS.  At the end of the school year your student’s records will be forwarded to their new school. Please contact Mrs. Barron with any questions at barronm@northandoverpublicschools.com

So, what is your child doing this summer?

Check out the summer offerings available for middle school students through Community Programs here and through the North Andover Youth Center here.

Attention Music Parents/Guardians and Students

Did you know that NAMA (North Andover Music Association) offers music stipends for tuition and fee assistance for the July 2019-June 2020 Year?
