Principal's Post 09/24/18 Dear NAMS Families, I hope that this message finds you and your family well. I recognize that many of our families continue to be without gas service. I have been impressed with how this community has found countless numbers of ways to help one another during this difficult time. You may find available supports for our North Andover families here. Over the last few weeks, I have been able to meet and get to know so many wonderful students, parents, and community members. Walking around the building and visiting classes has provided me opportunities to see teachers who are experts in their craft demonstrating to students just how much they care. This is a special place and I am very fortunate to be a part of it. School Picture Day is Scheduled for Friday, September 28, 2018 Students should hand their order form to the photographer. Blank forms are available in the office for students who may have misplaced their form. All students should have their picture taken. NAMS Book Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, October 3rd through Friday, October 5th Our NAMS Book Fair will be held in the NAMS Library during the school days on Wednesday, October 3rd through Friday, October 5th and will also be open during Geography Night on the evening of Thursday, October 4th. Students will have the opportunity to visit the fair during school hours as well as during Geography Night on Thursday, October 4th. The event brings to our school a wonderful selection of fun, engaging, and affordable books kids want to read. Giving kids access to good books and the opportunity to choose books will motivate them to read more! Reading for pleasure makes a big difference to children’s educational performance as they develop a broader vocabulary, increase general knowledge, and develop a better understanding of other cultures. “Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.” -Charles W. Elio If you are willing and able to volunteer your time to help the students check out books, you can sign up for a slot or even two here or at the following address: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a0f4fa8ae2daaf94-scholastic If you want more information about the book fair, please contact Timra Carlson at timra_carlson@yahoo.com.
