Remote Learning Expectations

Attendance Guidelines

  • Students are expected to log into the homeroom google meet by 7:45 a.m.

  • Students are expected to log into the google meets by the start of the class.

  • Students are expected to remain logged into the google meets, including homeroom, until the teacher ends the class.

    • Teachers will take attendance at the start of each class period.

    • Teachers receive a report from google with the times that students in every class log in and log out each day.

Class Participation Guidelines (Cameras Use and More)

  • Students are expected to be active participants during class.

  • With active participation, we have the expectation that students will turn their camera on when appropriate during remote instruction.

  • Actively participating includes responding to teachers’ questions and/or completing tasks as directed by the teacher.

  • There are times during remote sessions when camera use may not be necessary. Any time student cameras are off, the expectations for class participation will still apply.

  • Students who are unable to utilize their camera for active class participation should contact their teacher via email to discuss accommodations.

Why do cameras have to be on?

  • Having cameras on allows teachers to ensure that students are engaged and present, allows them to pick up on nonverbal cues of understanding or confusion, and helps to foster a sense of community and accountability within the class.
